To fully understand the Aventador SVJ, you have to compare it to its still impressive sister car, the Aventador S. We are going to do just that with our Lamborghini Aventador S vs Aventador SVJ comparison. See what attributes gave the Aventador SVJ its Nürburgring lap record time.
Unsurprisingly, the Aventador S was brought out to the iconic Nürburgring track around the time of its debut in 2015. With its debut, it took a second-place time at the track with an overall lap time of 6:59.73. When the Aventador SVJ showed up just over 3 years later, it managed a lap time of 6:44.97.
Even for a track the size of the Nürburgring, a time difference of nearly 15 seconds is huge. Often races are won by tenths of a second, so even a time difference of a second or two is notable to say the least. A difference of nearly 15 seconds shows just how different these two cars are.

Before we get into some specific features and changes that the Aventador SVJ has beyond the Aventador S, we should first dive into the nitty gritty numbers and what gave the Aventador SVJ its magic. Horsepower and torque are always the big talking points, but below we have included other numbers as well.
Power: 740 CV (729.6 hp) at 8,400 RPM
Torque: 690 Nm (507 lb-ft) at 5,500 RPM
Weight: 1575 kg (3,472 lbs.)
Length: 4,797 mm (188.9 in)
Width: 2,030mm (79.9 in)
Power: 770 CV (759.2 hp) at 8,500 RPM
Torque: 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) at 6,750 RPM
Weight: 1525 kg (3,362 lbs.)
Length: 4,943 mm (194.6 in)
Width: 2,098 mm (82.6 in)
Above you will notice a few things. Obviously, the Aventador SVJ produces more power and more torque, but it also does both at higher RPM. The Aventador SVJ is also over 100 pounds lighter than its Aventador S sister.
We also included length and width so you can see just how different these two cars are. It’s interesting that though the Aventador SVJ is both wider and longer, it’s still lighter. The height for these two models is identical at 1,136 mm (44.7 in). Both models have different but similar bodies, and the Aventador SVJ employs a large wing along with next-gen aerodynamics via Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0 or ALA 2.0 for short. All that combines for one crazy lap time.
