Bentley has been doing a lot of talking about their new performance SUV dubbed the Bentayga, all the while Lamborghini has been quietly assembling a revolution by the name of Urus. When you talk about performance, the competition may end on the road, but it starts under the hood, so that’s where we will start. The Bentayga sounds impressive with its engine specifications given that it has a 6.0-liter W12 engine, but the twin-turbocharged Urus V8 engine leaves it in the dust.
The Bentayga engine manages to produce 600 horsepower, but the Urus with its 4.0-liter V8 manages to output 650 horsepower. Makes you wonder why the Bentayga needs all those extra cylinders. It sure isn’t putting them to work.

An unfortunate truth about most SUVs is that they are heavy, and the Bentayga definitely proves that with a dry weight of 5,379 pounds. The Urus isn’t an SUV, it’s an SSUV or Super Sport Utility Vehicle, and it shows especially when it comes to weight.
In fact, the Urus weighs just 4,850 pounds, or over 500 pounds less than the Bentayga.
That weight difference plus the horsepower difference really adds up when it comes to acceleration. The Bentayga is able to achieve a 4.1 second 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time, which was certainly impressive when it debuted, but the Urus does one better. With a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 3.6 seconds, the Urus blows the doors off the Bentayga in a sprint.
What about top speed? The Bentayga puts up impressive numbers with a top speed of 187 mph (301 km/h), but the Urus once again puts the Bentayga in its place. With a top speed of 189.5 mph (305 km/h), the Urus earns the “Super” in Super Sport Utility Vehicle.
