How many cylinders is the Aventador engine?

What engine comes in the Lamborghini Aventador?

The Aventador is powerful, but what engine comes in the Lamborghini Aventador? As you may or may not know, the V12 engine is Lamborghini’s bread and butter. For a multitude of reasons, both historical and technical, Lamborghini has continuously developed the V12 for decades, and it’s only fitting that the Aventador receives the V12 treatment.

The latest V12 is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated powerplant that operates with two cylinder banks at a 60 degree angle. This is the fourth generation Lamborghini V12 and it’s the first all-new V12 since the 350GT. With three Aventador models, this V12 has three different performance profiles.

Aventador LP 700-4 engine specs

Horsepower: 690
Torque:
508 pound-feet

0-62 MPH: 2.9 Seconds

The standard Aventador sets the pace for all other Aventador models to come. With all-wheel drive as the only drive-wheel configuration option, every Aventador is putting all twelve cylinders to work pushing all four wheels to their absolute limits.

As the replacement to the Murcielago, the Aventador has already outsold and outperformed its ancestor, and it shows no signs of slowing down. This model even offers both a coupe and a roadster body style.

Aventador LP 750-4 SV engine specs

Horsepower: 740
Torque:
507 pound-feet

0-62 MPH: 2.8 Seconds

The SV or Superveloce is the ultimate Aventador. Built to be at home both on the road and out on the track, this machine is downright scary. With more horsepower and better acceleration than any other Aventador the SV is a true hypercar.

This model takes downforce to the extreme with 180% improvement of over the standard model with its ground effects and large rear wing. This model even shaves off 110 pounds of weight over the standard Aventador.

Aventador LP 740-4 S engine specs

Horsepower: 730
Torque:
507 pound-feet

0-62 MPH: 2.9 Seconds

Though this is the newest model of Aventador, it’s power comes somewhere between the previous two models. This model is an improvement of the supercar without many of the track day bells and whistles of the SV.

Other benefits of this model include four-wheel steering, a permanent all-wheel drive system, carbon ceramic brakes, and a new front splitter. Initially the S will only be available as a coupe. Order the Aventador S in Palm Beach, FL today.
