What would it take to off-road a Huracan EVO?

Can you off-road a Lamborghini Huracan?

Off-road vehicles are a unique brand of vehicle. Usually, these are SUVs or even Super Sport Utility Vehicles like the Lamborghini Urus, but what about the Huracan? Can you off-road a Lamborghini Huracan? It sounds like a ridiculous question, but maybe it’s not actually that ridiculous. Let’s take a closer look.

What does a vehicle need to go off-road?

We could write a whole blog and many more just on what a vehicle needs to go off-road, but there are a few major things that you almost can’t do without. To go off-road you want all-wheel drive, you want off-road capable tires, you want a lot of horsepower and torque, you want skid plating, and having special off-road lighting is also a big plus.

The Huracan EVO actually has a few of these things in its skill set already. It’s an all-wheel drive only vehicle and when it comes to horsepower and torque, it has ridiculous amounts to play around with. What would happen if you took it the rest of the way? Lamborghini did just that with the Huracan Sterrato concept car.

How fast is the Lamborghini Urus?

What is the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato?

The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is just a concept car, but it is a gorgeous creation that puts a Huracan in the dirt. The Sterrato has skid plating, it has body cladding, it has off-road capable tires, it’s been raised up, and it even has off-road optimized LED lights.

We can’t believe we are saying this, but Lamborghini built an off-road capable supercar. Its ground clearance may have only been increased by 47mm, but that’s enough to increase its approach angle by 1% and its departure angle by 6.5%. This isn’t the first time that Lamborghini has explored the possibility of an off-road supercar either. They also tried their hand at it with the Jarama and the Urraco in the ‘70s.

What does Sterrato mean?

As with all Lamborghini models that we talk about, we would be remiss if we didn’t talk about what the name means.

Of course, the Huracan name already has its origins in bullfighting, but Sterrato is different. Sterrato is Italian, and it means dirt.
