What does SV mean?

That SV that you find at the end of the Aventador SV model name and even on the side of the car, means a whole lot. That SV stands for Superveloce, which is the latter half of the full name for this Aventador model. You may have already guessed it, but the term Superveloce has its roots in Italian. Veloce means fast. The rest of the meaning should be easy to surmise.

Aventador SV performance differences

Though the powertrain design is the same, it features upgraded performance for the SV mode. This version of the V12 powerplant pumps out 740 horsepower which is 50 horsepower more than the standard Aventador and 10 horsepower more than the new Aventador S.

If you were looking for more numbers to differentiate the two models, we will throw them at you right here. An improved 0-62 mph time of 2.8 seconds down from 2.9 seconds. A power to weight ration or 1 horsepower to every 2 kilograms. Finally, a top speed in excess of 350 km/h or 217 mph.

Does the Aventador SV look different?

The visual differences between the Aventador and the Aventador SV are striking.
