Scenic routes and twisty roads near West Palm Beach

Best roads to drive in Southern Florida

People take their cars out for a cruise for many different reasons. Sometimes you just want to get out of the house or out of your city, other times you just miss the blip of the throttle and the grip of the tires in a curve. For this reason, we have divided our cruising routes into two categories: driving routes and scenic routes. Take a look at what we’ve come up with for the best roads to drive in Southern Florida.

Driving Southern Florida Routes

Unfortunately, roads that are fun to drive purely for their thrills and turns are difficult to find in Florida. That’s because the cheapest roads are straight roads unless you have elevation to contend with, and did you know that Florida is the flattest state in the United States. A flat state means less fun roads, but we have a few that may be worth the drive.

Road: Highway 94
Location:
Approximately 30 miles west of Miami
Length:
23 miles

Road: Highway 84 with side roads
Location:
Approximately 30 miles west of Hollywood
Length:
15 miles

Road: Highway 78
Location:
East of Cape Coral

Length: 24 miles

Unfortunately if you really want a fun and twisty road, you are better off finding a local track, not only is it safer, it will likely be more fun too. If you were just looking for a last minute driving idea, these roads should treat you well. Just remember to obey traffic laws and keep safety in mind at all times.
