The Lamborghini Huracan Squadra Corse is coming to the roads of Lighthouse Point, Florida. Lamborghini is currently in development of the most mind bending Huracan to date, and it is applied named the Super Trofeo Omologato. As you may have guessed, it is the road going version of the Huracan Super Trofeo Evo. A race car for the road.
Omogolato, better known as “approved for the roads” will be seen on the streets this summer with the all-new 2021 model. Just when you thought that Lamborghini couldn’t make the Huracan any more extreme, the STO was born. The Huracan STO will make the most out of what is already a potent package with the Huracan Evo. It will be equipped with the naturally aspired 5.2 Liter V-10 with a formidable 632 horsepower and 442 lbs of torque. And the drive train? Expect that to be rear-wheel drive. After all, the Huracan STO is expected to be over 300 lbs lighter than its predecessor.
With that much less weight to shift around on the streets of Lighthouse Point, Florida, the Huracan STO will truly be a track car for the streets. An extensive re-skin of the standard car with carbon fiber body panels has saved an estimated 60+ lbs. With so much weight shed, more downforce and the addition of bigger brakes with a stiffer suspension are a must.
The Huracán STO sports an entirely new exterior design, revising its inimitable Lamborghini profile to optimize airflow. Mitja Borkert, Head of Design, says: “Racing cars are always a strong inspiration for our design. The Huracán STO exquisitely reflects the technology transfer from our successful Huracán race cars, displayed in every aesthetic detail.”
Every aspect of the Huracán STO draws on the aerodynamic efficiency and lightweight technologies demanded in motorsports. The Huracán STO embodies the principle that Lamborghini design always follows function: even more valid for a street-homologated car inspired by a racecar. The Huracán STO is the result of the collaboration between Lamborghini’s R&D, Squadra Corse and Centro Stile departments, with every line and every feature aesthetically outstanding while optimized to ensure the best driving performance.
The interior features the same track-minded approach, using lightweight, high-quality materials throughout - notably carbon fiber. Featured in the door panels, interior details, seats and floor mats, this innovative and distinctive material offers a super-sports look that perfectly complements the car's fine Alcantara and Carbon Skin finishes for added performance flair and functional style.
While recalling the Huracan EVO, the interior solutions of the new Huracan STO contribute to an overall weight reduction compared to the previous model. The end result elicits the sensation and character of true racing from the moment you get behind the wheel.
