What can Alexa do in a car?
Amazon’s Alex service has done amazing things for home automation and general convenience. From playing music and setting kitchen timers to controlling lights and even ordering things for you, there seems to be no limit to what Alexa can do in the home. But what can Alexa do in a car? Lamborghini is a cutting-edge company with genuine supercars, and their supercars are pushing the boundaries of what you can do with Alexa, not in the home, but in your car.
What Lamborghini models have Alexa?
Alexa functionality is rolling out in the HMI (Human Machine Interface) system for the first time in 2020. Specifically, it will show up on the Huracan EVO. Though the Huracan EVO is the only model currently announced to have this Alexa feature, more Lamborghini models will likely follow including the insanely popular Urus.
How does Alexa work in a car?
Alexa is an entirely voice-activated system. The word “Alexa” is sort of a passphrase. Basically, you say Alexa, and then anything that follows will be your command to the voice-activated interface. Alexa then analyzes what you said and does its best to meet your demands.
Alexa in a regular car can make calls for you, provide directions, play audio (music, podcasts, audiobooks and more), check the news, get weather updates, and more. However, in most vehicles, Alexa is isolated from the vehicle’s systems. It’s the Huracan EVO that will to change all that.
What can Alexa do in a Lamborghini?
The Huracan EVO not only takes advantage of all the Alexa capabilities that you can find in other vehicles. It is also the first car to take things a step further and integrate those Alexa services into the functionality of the car itself.
Not only can you make calls and send texts, but you can also adjust the climate control settings, adjust heated seats, and change interior lighting. Four-wheel drive Huracan EVO models also extend the integration to the LDVI (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata) system.
