Sculptures, Paintings, Windows, and More
The goal of Art in Public Places is to increase cultural interaction, education and economic development through the installation and maintenance of public art. This program is being funded by a one-percent public art fee. As this project continues, more art will be incorporated into architectures and landscaped across Palm Beach County.
There are currently 13 completed projects spread throughout the county. The North County area has one project which is a series of sculptures placed in three key areas in the Gardens Branch Library. South Palm Beach County currently has five installations. One of them is a large pineapple-like structure outside of the South Country Courthouse. The Central County area has three pieces, one of them combining architecture and art with hurricane-resistant art glass windows, fused glass wall sculptures, and a terrazzo floor. Finally, we have the West County area with four installations currently. One of the projects is a series of murals in the South Bay Headstart classrooms.
